Mealuma ("we", "us", "the app") is an AI food-recognition and nutrition-tracking app for Android, published by Zubair Elahi. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions? Email zubair.elahi@hotmail.com.
What we collect and why

Meal reminders are scheduled on your phone; the times you choose are stored on your device only.
Food photos
Photos are sent securely to our servers and to our AI processing partner solely to analyse your meal. By default, your photo is deleted after analysis. If you turn on "Keep meal photos" (Profile → Data & image retention), photos are stored privately in your account until you delete the meal, turn the setting off, or delete your account.
Accounts and sign-in
You can use Mealuma as a guest, or sign in with email and password or with Google. With Google sign-in we receive your name, email address and a basic profile identifier from Google — never your Google password. Passwords for email accounts are stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider.
Subscriptions
Premium subscriptions are sold and billed by Google Play. We never see or store your card or payment details. To activate Premium we receive the subscription's product, status, renewal date and a purchase token from Google Play, which we verify with Google and store with your account. AI processing
To analyse meals, calculate manually entered foods and create meal plans, we send the relevant information to Google's Gemini API: the photo or food description, and — for meal plans — your calorie and macro targets, goal, age range, sex and country. This information is used only to produce your result.
Advertising
The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before personalised ads are shown; otherwise ads are non-personalised. You can review or change this choice anytime in Profile → Advertising privacy. Premium subscribers see no ads.

These providers act under their own security and privacy commitments. Data may be processed on servers outside your country. We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep data
- Account, profile, meals and water logs: until you delete them or your account.
- Meal photos: deleted after analysis, unless you choose to keep them.
- Meal plans: the last 7 days; older plans are deleted automatically.
- Aggregated, non-identifying statistics may be kept; records required by law are kept only as long as legally required.
Your controls
- Delete any meal from your diary.
- Choose whether meal photos are kept, and clear data stored on your device (Profile → Data & image retention).
- Edit or remove your profile details at any time (Profile → About you).
- Review or withdraw advertising consent (Profile → Advertising privacy).
- Delete your account and all cloud data, in the app (Profile → Delete account). Deletion is permanent. See how account deletion works.

Children
Mealuma is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Health disclaimer
Mealuma provides approximate food, calorie and nutrition estimates for general informational and wellness purposes. Results may be inaccurate and should not replace advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
